Violante is a London based Italian artist. She studied in Paris and New York, where she graduated in Fine Arts from Pratt University. Before returning to the ceramic medium in 2010, Violante has worked as a painter for a decade, developing a refined sense of colour: her painting background is noticeable in her glazing technique and use of colour combination. Violante creates one of a kind ceramics vessels. Each piece is hand built using white stoneware clay and fired in oxidation at 1260°C. She has developed a glazing technique that combines a variety of matte and shiny glazes which she meticulously drips and overlays achieving a stage where the colour impacts the texture and the texture exalts the colour itself.

Violante is represented by MADEINBRITALY art gallery and her work is on display at the Alexander Lamont + Miles Showroom, situated at the DCCH, Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, in London. One of the world’s premier destination for design and decoration excellence.

Her work was selected to be shown at the second edition of the prestigious Homo Faber Event 2022: Living treasures of Europe and Japan, in the Next of Europe exhibition, staged at the Fondazione Cini in Venice and organised by the Michelangelo Foundation. She is a member of the Homo Faber Guide.

Violante appears in Who’s Who in Visual Arts, 74 Artisans, Craftspeople & designers, 2016 edition and has been a nominee of the 2016 Arts & Crafts Design Award.
